My Photograph of a Hummingbird at Huntington Gardens + May Sketch Art, Day 30 + 31 Sketches, Mermaid + Angel Fairy...

I took this photograph of this hummingbird at Huntington Gardens.  Perched high above in a very tall tree, he would rest there and then fly to the flowers and back again.  I hope that you will enjoy these photos!

I love to paint animals, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  I would like her to be a companion to a flapjack octopus for a mini painting I'm working on, but I still feel the sketch isn't right yet.  I'm going to make at least one more attempt, but I may switch her out with a more cooperative maiden...  I think she is most likely a mermaid, although she could also be a goddess or a fairy angel.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in May.  This is from day 30.

This is a rough sketch.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She is wearing a tiara and she has a peek a boo look with her hair flowing down over one eye.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

My Photograph of a Hummingbird at Descanso Gardens + May Sketches Art, Day 18 Sketch, Orchid Flower...

I took this photograph of this emerald green hummingbird at Descanso Gardens.  I am unsure of the name of the white flowers it is drinking from, but it liked them a lot.  Hummingbirds move so very fast that I feel very lucky when I capture one on camera.  They are always a joy to me to see... I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

Here is a sketch of an orchid.  Orchids are one of my favorite flowers, there's an incredibly diverse range to these lovely flowers...  I doubt I'll paint it, but I did enjoy sketching it.

A Photograph of a Hummingbird Blending In...

I took this photograph of a hummingbird at my previous home.  I like how she was blending in with her surroundings.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I'm not sure why my blog is acting like I have word verification on in the comments, I do not.  If you just ignore it, I think it will post okay.  I checked and made sure it said it was off and it is off, but for some reason it's misbehaving and I can't figure out how to fix it...

Emerald Green Ruby Throated Hummingbird and Violet Purple Hummingbird Together Yet Apart

Emerald Original Painting SOLD
Open Edition 5"x7" Giclee Prints & Limited Edition Giclee ACEO Prints Here

Violet Original Painting SOLD
Open Edition 5"x7" Giclee Prints & Limited Edition Giclee ACEO Prints Here

I painted a Violet purple hummingbird and an Emerald green ruby throated hummingbird with sunflowers together on one canvas, but at the time, my camera couldn't capture the image at a high enough quality to capture the image.  I loved the painting so much that I scanned it into the computer as two separate images and that is how I am sharing them...  I sold the original, but I do have this available as prints and LE ACEOs!

Every week on Tuesday, I try to list a small original, some giclee art prints, and giclee LE ACEO prints at promotional prices. Visit here to see what I have available this week!

A Photograph of a Hummingbird at Rest at Huntington Gardens...

This photograph is of a hummingbird taking a little break at Huntington Gardens.  On one of my visits, I found an area where they loved the flowers.  I managed to get some photographs of them at rest and some flying.  Humming birds are ever so quick, I feel fortunate when I manage to get even one good shot, I think this was one of my best shots of the day.  I hope you will enjoy this photo...

Tomorrow I'm going to LACMA, I'm not sure I'll have a chance to post, but I should be able to on Friday.
