Art Sketch of a Big Eye Egyptian Fairy Angel , March 12 Daily Sketch...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  Alex and I were watching Rome last evening and I was inspired to give her an Egyptian feel with her makeup, hair, and ankh necklace.  I think she is most likely a fairy angel, although she could also be a mermaid or goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.


I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in March.  This is day 12.

Angel Fairy Big Eye Art Original Painting Work in Progress WIP + Beetle Website Update...

Here is a work in progress view of my 11"x14" original big eye angel fairy painting.  In this wip I think I'm finally done with the clouds!  I've started on her wings, to the right there's a base coat and to the left there's another layer that will be covered with who knows how many layers.  I've just started to assess around where I'd like some of the more prominent feathers.  I thought this was an interesting wip shot since it shows layers that will be almost if not completely covered by the time that I am finished...

"Found" is a bit different then most of my pieces, it is of an insect found in a friend's car.  I wish it still had life, that I could have set it free.  Although its life was gone, I still found beauty in it and decided to pay homage to what was once there with a painting.  I thought it looked a bit like an Egyptian scarab beetle, but I don't think that isn't what it actually is.  This piece has a realist surreal feel.  This piece is available as an original, as prints, and Limited Edition ACEOs!

Work in Progress Big Eye Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead Painting + Egyptian Fairy Website Update...

Here is a work in progress view of my big eye Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead painting.  I'm pretty much happy with the eyes, but I have more work to do on her neck and shoulders.  Even when I've worked with the shading a bit, I'm not sure if she needs something more there; maybe a bit of her blouse, a necklace, possibly a tatttoo.  Or the possibility exists that when I've entirely finished with the rest of the painting, she may not need anything at all, so I'll wait until later to decide for certain.  I can put her into photoshop and pre visualize the options when I'm further along...
