A Photograph of an Iris for my Garden...

Yesterday I went to the Huntington Gardens fall plant sale.  Although I haven't had good luck with irises, I thought this iris was so beautiful and had such a fragrant aroma, I decided to chance it and take it home.  Irises are one of my favorite types of flowers.  We haven't planted it yet, but I wanted to share it with you.  I'm not even sure how to describe the colors.  I didn't realize that irises bloom twice a year, I thought it was just the once...  This variation of iris is called Bernice's Legacy, if you're in the Southern California area, the sale is still on today and tomorrow.  We also bought some other lovely plants, but I will endeavor to share them another day.

It's lovely. It's a perennial in northern climes, mine flower once a year.

Thanks Laurie, Christine, and Lorraine! I didn't know it varied from region to region. I wish I had a green thumb, I really hope this makes it (we're planting it on Tuesday).
