Original Big Eye Mermaid with Starfish Painting! Art Prints & ACEO Prints! Audrey Kawasaki's Mural at The House of Blues...

"Looking In" Original Painting on 11"x11" Porthole Frame Here

This week my featured painting is "Looking In," an original painting of a big eye brunette mermaid with a starfish friend. She has huge inquisitive brown eyes.  She is painted directly on a porthole frame and there is some texture to the starfish.  The piece has a surreal lowbrow fantasy feel. I love mermaids so...  The original painting is available for purchase on my website as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions...  This month, my theme is mermaids and includes a selection of some of my big eye fantasy sirens; you may see them here.

me (Lisa Isabella Russo) with Audrey Kawasaki's painting at the House of Blues to show scale

While I was on my way to my Las Laguna Gallery Show, I stopped for lunch at the House of Blues in Anaheim.  They have this mural by Audrey Kawasaki.  She's one of my favorite artists.  I went to her solo show not that long ago, but while I haven't put together the images for that yet, I thought you might enjoy seeing this wonderful work of art she created.  Unlike shows which are only available for viewing briefly and I tend to not getting them ready to share until after they've closed, I think this piece of art will be available for viewing for quite some time...  The food was also fine and musicians were practicing while we ate, it was really very nice and I hope you'll enjoy my pictures of her painting.

I love everything about this mural, well except for that it isn't mine, but I felt very lucky to go and see her art in person...  Her faces are incredible and the hands she paints and draws are so delicate and lovely.  The flowers are also so beautiful.

Whilst I have continued to sketch daily, I spent my time getting this ready and haven't had a chance to prep my sketch yet for today.  I'll try to get caught up on posting my daily sketches tomorrow.

I love the porthole painting, such a lovely idea, with that inquisitive mermaid peeking in. The mural you showed is wonderful, I have never heard of the artist before, but her work is great, love the photo of 'little' you underneath the mural. Hugs, Valerie
