Rough Sketch of an African Pygmy Goose Duck for Birbfest 2025!

This is a rough sketch of an African Pygmy Goose for day 11 of #birbfest2025.  It was created with a mechanical pencil, a 6B pencil, and an eraser in my sketchbook.  This duck has an observant quality.

I know I won't complete a drawing every day for the challenge, but I intend to do a quick sketch as often as I get a chance.  After the month is through, maybe I'll pick some to create paintings with...

WIP Big Eye Goddess Betta Fish Art Original Painting Work in Progress + June Sketches, Sketch 9, Duckling...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a big eye goddess and a betta fish I've been working on the background.  I'm a couple of layers in, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to move forward or not; although it is less bright than my first layer, I'm not sure if it still isn't too bright.  The panel that I'm painting on is 4"x4"...

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

I'm joining in this week with Paint Party Friday.  To see more participants, please visit:

Here is a sketch of a duckling.  I love ducks and I thought this little bird was so very cute.  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

edit:  Coincidentally, it's Donald Duck's birthday today!  Happy birthday Donald Duck.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in June.  This is day 9.

This is a rough sketch.

My Photograph of a White Heron and a Black Duck at Descanso Gardens...

I took this photograph of a white heron and a black duck at Descanso Gardens a while back.  I was at the bird watching station before they made the path around the pond.  This was taken from pretty far back, I've cropped the image so that the birds are more visible.  The black duck is a regular there, the heron I've seen much more rarely.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

My Photograph of a Mallard Duck Couple at Descanso Gardens ...

I took this photograph at Descanso Gardens at the pond near the front some time ago.  These two mallard ducks didn't stray too far from one another while I was watching.  The male usually followed the female pretty closely, I thought they were so sweet together.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!
