In this original acrylic painting of a chow chow puppy dog, I'm very close to being done.  I've been working on her nose and whiskers.  Now that I have her scanned in, I'm going to previs the highlights in her eyes and when they're painted she will very likely be all done...  The panel that I'm painting on is 5"x7"

June 30-July 6

This is a bit of a large group, sometimes I fall behind in scanning them in, but so far I have been consistent in sketching daily.  It's something I really enjoy, these are just rough sketches, but I hope that you will enjoy them.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has an expression of gentle concern.  I think she is most likely a goddess, although she could also be a fairy angel or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in June. This is from day 30.

In this original acrylic painting of a chow chow puppy dog, I have completed the background.  Originally I'd intended to have this piece finished by the start of Chinese New Year as the zodiac animal this year is dog, however other factors delayed me.  In any case, it is year of the dog all year long, so while I'm late, I think it's still okay.  This little pup looks a bit peeved, I'm hoping to mitigate that as I proceed.  The panel that I'm painting on is 5"x7"

In this original acrylic painting of a peacock, I've started blocking in the stems of the feathers.  I put it aside for a while to work on some other deadlines, but I have resumed painting my feathery friend...  I had planned on laying in gold leaf, the type that comes in pages, but instead I think I will use a paint.  It isn't acrylic though, so it will likely be the last part of the feathers that I do.  The canvas that I'm painting on is 11"x14"

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of an idealized big eye version of myself, I've been working on the highlights and eye details.  From far back it can be difficult to see the details so I'm sharing a closeup.  I need to work a little more on the eyes and then comes the hair wispies.  I think this is the mermaid version of me...
